The Shimano Baitrunner D Series is the product of precise engineering advances in Shimano's premium bait fishing range. This series has raised the bar on previous models and now can deliver the most impressive baitrunner that New Zealand anglers have ever seen.

• Propulsion Line Management System:The new Propulsion Line Management System provides the angler longer casts, with less effort, while drastically reducing the chance of backlash, wind knots or tangles.
• Varispeed Oscillation:Normal oscillation systems use a constant rotation of the oscillation gear that, when translated to the cam, provides an inconsistent spool speed. This results in line lay that stacks at either end of the spool. By using an oval oscillation gear, we are able to alter the speed of the oscillation cam to provide a consistent spool speed. This results in an even line lay that provides excellent castability and manageability.
• S Concept: S-Concept represents Shimano's initial philosophy on which many of our spinning reel have been designed. The three basic ideas that are inherent in the S-Concept are Smooth, Silent and Strong.
• Power Roller III:  This is an oversized line roller that reduces twist from casting and retrieving and is enhanced with a tapered area on the support to help line get onto the roller quicker.

• S A-RB (Shielded A-RB Ball Bearings): These bearings have been through the same process as our A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearing's rotation.
• Super Stopper II Anti-Reverse:Super Stopper anti-reverse uses a one-way stainless steel roller bearing that eliminates back-play in the handle. This provides the angler with instant hook-setting power.
• Dyna-Balance:Dyna-Balance eliminates reel wobble during the retrieve by counter-balancing the rotor to enhance winding smoothness.
